Le jeune violoncelliste s'entoure du City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) et de la chef d'orchestre Mirga Grazinyte-Tyla pour son premier album studio. Enregistré à Birmingham et à Nottingham, cet opus dévoile son interprétation du Concerto pour violoncelle n°1 de Chostakovitch, la pièce avec laquelle il a remporté le concours BBC Young Musician. Sheku a également voulu jouer des oeuvres qui ont compté pour lui dans sa formation et sa carrière : Evening of roses que son enseignant lui avait appris au lycée, Tears for Jacqueline et Song of the Birds en hommage à Mstislav Rostropovich, Pablo Casals et Jacqueline du Pré, No woman, no cry pour son idole Bob Marley. |
